Genie Going Hollywood

Genie Scientific has provided the entertainment industry with laboratory furniture used in set designs for over 20 years. Headquartered just a hour drive from Hollywood in Fountain Valley, CA Genie has build great working relationships with production companies.

Genie's first business with the entertainment industry was in 1984 when Genie provided analytical instruments to the Knott's Berry Farm wax museum. The instruments were on display with the Jerry Lewis Nutty Professor wax figure.

Since then Genie fume hoods and lab casework has been used on the sets of several movies including The Nutty Professor 2, Outbreak, Spiderman 2, The Relic and most recently a commercial for Castrol motor oil.

Genie lab furniture has been in some memorable movie scenes but the one that sticks out the most in the mind of CEO Moya O'Neill occurred in The Relic. "It was the scene where Penelope Ann Miller is being chased by the monster and there is a gigantic explosion. You can clearly see Genie steel cabinets being blown to smithereens! It was awesome!"

O'Neill also added, "We always love working with the movie industry, not only are they good customers but it is fun to see Genie products on the big screen." You can expect Genie to continue to provide the entertainment industry with props for years to come.
